FAQs

  • Do you guarantee I'll be accepted to a TEDx conference?

No. For one, because it’s against TED policy to guarantee anyone a spot on any TEDx stage. But also because not every idea is right for TEDx, and organizers are just people. What I can guarantee is IF your idea has TEDx potential, we will get it into shape and exercise all of our knowledge and experience to see it shared on the Red Dot.

  • What's it like working with you?

We believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued. While we do have our own coaching methodology, The Core Message Triad, we don’t believe in forcing structures or frameworks blindly. We will figure out how you work best and adapt our methods to help you excel.

  • Are you connected with conference organizers?

Yes, I know lots of conference organizers, but that’s not what you’re buying when you work with me. When I have a client whose Big Idea is a perfect fit for one of my organizer friends, I definitely let them know. And yes, some of my clients get in that way. But most of my clients get accepted when I teach them how to network with organizers and persuasively argue for their Big Idea.

  • Do I need a speaker coach?

Definitely not. Conference applications are open to anyone, and most conferences assign a speaking coach to you once you’ve been accepted.

So, why hire us, or any coach?

People spend years submitting hundreds of these applications, getting rejected over and over, without realizing what they’re doing wrong.

And if you’re assigned a speaker coach by the conference?

That’s a volunteer. They’ll do their best in their limited time, but they don’t work for you. They work for the conference.

  • Are you able to help me develop a keynote or signature speech?

Yes, in fact that’s a huge part of our work. We believe the journey to the Red Dot is only the beginning. Most of our clients seek a complete transformation from merely a speaker, coach, or consultant into a true thought leader.

Giving a world class talk on the famous Red Dot is just the start. Then we need to leverage the “instant authority” you gain towards your ultimate goal.

If that goal is becoming a highly paid keynote speaker, we will develop that presentation and help you build a strategy around marketing the speech and connecting with decision-makers.

  • Can you help me write a talk that will bring in new business?

Yes, but with some caveats. It’s one of my primary goals to help entrepreneurs, thought leaders, business owners deliver a talk that aligns to their career ambitions. Having said that, TED has a hard rule against self-promotion. You cannot mention your book, your business, your proprietary methodology, etc. We’ll design a talk that makes people so interested in your Big Idea that they’ll look you up - and that’s how your business will see growth as a result.
